Frank Sinatra sings “Lost in the Stars,” a tragic song of a crisis of faith, as the finale for his 1968 television show. The song is all the more heartbreaking considering the madness that had taken place in America in the preceding months, including the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy as well as an increasing amount of political violence and riots. For Sinatra, 1968 also meant a decline in his popularity with the record buying public and the end to yet another marriage. His performance here is not only deeply sad, it’s desperate. (x)

Dean Martin & Frank Sinatra- Marshmallow World

:D The most random thing? This reminds me of December 2009, when I got to see Bets Malone sing Marshmallow World in Winter Wonderettes. Dean and Frankie are adoooorable.

I still kick myself for forgetting how much I adore this man - to the point that I completely spazzed and missed the two fully acoustic mini-concerts (40 people per sitting!!) he staged in Beijing back in October 2008. (The deep abiding obsession only resurfaced when I saw him perform in a Lee Guitars concert in Singapore one month later…) Past!me is made of EPIC FAIL.
